Bio

The DJ Blue Steel, born Brian Staples, Jr., was born and raised in the DC Metro area--otherwise known as the DMV. He has been DJing since 2005, but loved music his entire life. The first album he owned was Micahael Jackson's Thriller

Blue Steel, over the years, has been influenced primarily by the music his parents played around the house. His mother, a soul singer, played nothing but R&B and soul. His father, a former Marine, still blasts funk and early Hip-Hop in his minivan. As a DJ, he is heavily influenced by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jam Master Jay, DJ Qbert, DJ Scratch, and DMV DJ's and radio personalities like DJ Quiksilver, DJ Flexx, Al B. D, and Donnie Simpson.

You can find Blue Steel playing at events as small as family reunions and birthday parties, as well as corporate events, homecomings, proms, and weddings. He has performed for crowds all over the country. He has the versatility and knowledge of music to play for any crowd. He is the co-owner of LiveGood Events.

The DJ Blue Steel was named by his beloved fraternity, the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
